Sikorsky Legacy of Heroes

The Legacy of Heroes aircraft stopped in Hyderabad, India from March 29 to April 4. This provided an opportunity for local Tara and TASL (Sikorsky’s joint venture with India’s TATA) employees to see first-hand the end product of the S-92® cabins they build.

The activities were a resounding success. Almost 800 employees, family members, and local orphans visited the aircraft over a three-day period. We were thrilled to welcome TATA employees as well as locally based UTC employees from various divisions.

Local management described the fever pitch excitement about the visit for the past few months in anticipation of this once-in-a lifetime opportunity for the employees. The employees were all smiles at the opportunity to see, touch and sign the aircraft. The majority of employees spent the entire day at the site. After their aircraft visits, they crowded into an observation deck and watched the aircraft fly.

Management at both facilities described that the JV, Tara and TASL teams were very emotional about the whole experience and we believe that this definitely added to the overall motivation of all.
